This is the chute for recycling old newspapers. It a pretty ignorable object in the old camera room and I more or less ignored it for a few months. When I finally looked into it, I was not expecting something that looks like it drops a story and a before the gap between it and the container. I wish the pile of papers weren’t so blown out but I’m using a frigging  camera phone right now.
