My wife got a balloon for her birthday in December. When she came into the apartment Dec. 27, it got loose and wound up about 11 feet above our dining room.


This photo does no justice, unless you have a concept of the height of bricks. The lower yellow line is maybe 7 feet up.

Today, nearly three months later, it finally sank to the ground in the kitchen. I think the air conditioning is to blame. It was near a vent, and I think the blasts of cold air condensed the helium enough to send it downward Tuesday afternoon.


I had assumed it would stay up until May.
